Private Pilot Ground School

The F.A.A. requires all private pilot candidates to pass a Private Pilot Ground School written examination that assesses knowledge. (F.A.A. regulation 61.105) This course reviews all the requirements and meets for ten weeks, a total of twenty class sessions. Sessions will start at 6:00 p.m. and end promptly at 9:00 p.m, Mondays and Thursdays. Senior instructors teach this course. It is not a video or computer orientation course, but offers interaction between student and teacher, supported with the latest training aids and devices. The fee is $300 plus required Jeppesen Private Pilot training materials, all available at our Pilot Shop.

To become a Private pilot you must:

• Be 16 years old to solo.
• Be 17 years old to receive your pilot certificate.
• Read, speak, and understand English.
• Hold at least a third-class medical certificate
